The First Way - Therapist Help

You have received training in techniques but you lack the confidence and ability to integrate the learning into an effective program.

You may seek guidance in the best ways to motivate the patient and family members to repattern not only motor skills but also related lifestyle changes that are necessary to support new behaviors.

Or, the tools themselves or training provided may present challenges.

“Aligning With your Soul” explores beliefs that inhibit the successful use of the tools available.

You may have difficulty demonstrating a technique included in your Introductory Program and need some assistance in sorting out what changes to make to allow for more ease in your practice. Sharing your challenges in a confidential setting with another colleague trained to address your concerns is a win for both you and your patients.

For example, you may have difficulty with feeling like you are not doing enough to help the patient or feel as though what you are guiding them to do is not being heard or understood. Using Aligning with your Soul techniques, I can help you figure out the underlying beliefs that may be contributing to you feeling this way. And in turn, giving you more confidence in your work and the ability to communicate with your patients so that you know what you are saying is understood in the way you intended.

The Second Way - Patient Help

For patients who have been struggling with the exercises or making the necessary changes, there may be underlying beliefs or emotional triggers that are preventing them from being able to do the work or even wanting to.

During a therapy session, I would work with you to demonstrate the techniques you could use to help your patient or their family members identify why their progress is limited.

For example, take a digit sucking habit. While there are techniques that can be used to correct this, there may be underlying emotional needs or beliefs that digit sucking provides to the patient that need to be addressed as well. For instance, digit sucking can be a type of self-soothing. With the techniques I can show you, you can help your patient get past the need to self soothe with digit sucking allowing them to embrace the exercises with less resistance.

There may also be parental anxiety surrounding necessary changes. These techniques can assist the parent with identifying and letting go of the anxiety they feel around the issue.
